Started to replace the Colt 3x20 scope in Colt's catalogue in 1982 or earlier. The scope comes in at least two patterns, an early short tube that is similar in size to the Colt 3x20 scope, and a longer tube version. Because of this, and the numerous copy of the scope produced by other manufactures, it is difficult to positively identify scopes of this model in many photos.
